Companies that run themselves.Open to everyone.

TBD is developing the operating system for the companies of tomorrow: a layer of agents that executes the work, coordinated by Caro.

The problem

In a firm, a significant share of hours goes not into production but into coordination: recording, checking, replying, chasing.

For the founder, the professional and the technician, support work grows until it takes time away from the craft the firm exists for.

The cost isn’t only organizational: it’s a productivity cost.

In Italy, labour productivity grew on average 0.2% a year between 1995 and 2024, against 1.2% in the European Union.

Why now

The cost of automated cognitive execution is falling quickly: within the same model class, inference prices dropped by a factor of ten in one generation.

[V]Source: Anthropic, published rates for Claude Haiku 4.5 and Haiku 5.5, October 2026.

The constraint is no longer the model but integration:

  • company memory,
  • connected tools,
  • human oversight.

That’s why adoption is still low: in 2025, 16.4% of Italian firms with ten or more employees use AI, up from 8.2% a year earlier.

A system of agents executing operational work under supervision raises output per hour worked: that is the economic space TBD operates in.

Chapter II · Caro

Caro, the project manager, the personal assistant, the chief of staff, the operations lead.

Caro runs on AI and is proactive. He doesn’t wait for instructions: he monitors deadlines, commitments and anomalies, anticipates what’s needed and proposes the next action. When a decision is required, he presents it already prepared, with the relevant information and an action ready to approve.

Sensitive data

Some data stays outside Caro by design.

When a document or a bank detail is required, a protected form opens and the data goes directly to the party authorized to handle it.

The growing graph

Growth follows the maturity of the technology. Caro starts as a coordinator of people. As agents become reliable, the same interface coordinates them too, and the company around it takes shape accordingly.

Stage 1, today.

Nodes: people, commitments, information. Caro connects them: he organizes the day, the inbox, the deadlines, the assigned work.

Stage 2.

A new kind of node enters: agents. Caro coordinates them the way he coordinates people: assigns, checks, reports.

Stage 3.

Nodes group into functions. The graph takes the shape of an operating company’s org chart, with Caro as the coordination point.

Stage 4.

The graph repeats across companies. The core stays the same; the kind of work done by the nodes changes.

Autonomy rises in steps: a role first proposes, then executes with approval, then executes and reports. A step is taken only after measured reliability. The decisions that matter stay with people.

The model that repeats

The core doesn’t change. The roles around it do.

The core stays the same across countries too; what changes is language, tax and compliance.

role reused in every sectorrole new to the sector

Each role is an agentic component with a goal, tools, permissions and metrics: built once, reused. A set of roles forms the operating team for a kind of business.

TBD’s goal is a catalog of agentic components from which a company of any size assembles the functions it wants the system to run.

In developmentThe first concrete case

Where it starts

TBD Commerce

Online commerce is the first case because the cycle (catalog, order, shipping, support, compliance, invoicing) is repetitive, measurable and fully digital.

TBD Commerce aims to make creating and running an online store the simplest possible procedure: you state what to sell and the team of agents builds, maintains, replies, ships and checks.

In developmentIt doesn’t exist yet: it is being developed with the first stores.

The climb

From stores that already sell, in Italy and across Europe, to business-to-business order flows, to distributors, then other sectors.

Compliance is built country by country: each market’s language, tax and selling rules.

Alexandru Casapu

He is 18, and a designer before he was a founder. He started at 14, building websites for shops in Turin. In 2025 he led the acquisition, redesign and relaunch of Uptimeline. He studies how AI agents are changing work and business, and is the author of a working paper on the subject.

Celestino Gianotti

One of the pioneers of computer graphics in Italy. In the late 1990s he created the visual world of Eiffel 65, Blue (Da Ba Dee) included, blending live action and 3D. He founded the studio BlissComedia. Since then he has built complex pipelines across animation, gaming, augmented reality and real-time graphics. Today he brings the same discipline to AI agents.
